Bhabishan Singh Goraya
ਲਿਖਾਰੀ ਭਬੀਸ਼ਨ ਸਿੰਘ ਗੁਰਾਇਆ ਬਾਰੇ
Goraya after serving Govt of India as an officer resigned to work for Sikhism in his own way. On April 14, 1994 he discussed the potential of Kartarpur sahib corridor with a Minister of Govt of Pakistan at Punja Sahib. He started Punjab Monitor magazine in 1996. When found Pakistan Govt was virtually willing to grant corridor, Goraya, started pursuing Sikh leaders to start a peaceful movement for Corridor. Some leader promising and some abandoning the movement after starting, ultimately after intense persuasion Jathedar Kuldip Singh Wadala agreed on Feb. 28, 2001 to agitate for issue. Goraya too had to jump in the campaign. Goraya published about 30 brochures in 18 years and circulated them in schools, melas (big festivals) and political conferences. He also brought out CDs and DVDs on Corridor issue and Sikh shrines in Pakistan. The most popular among his publications were the Wall poster and a booklet on the review of work of Iqbal Kaisar of Pakistan on the Sikh shrines. He also started a campaign, ‘More Babies Save Punjab’ in view of dwindling number of Punjabis. Though this campaign was not very successful yet he was able to bring the issue in the notice of sincere scholars of Punjab.
Goraya during preaching felt that there was no biography of Founding Father in chronological order. This small man thus undertook this great task and after working day night for three years the product is before you.
